Jackie Giambalvo
My name is Jackie Giambalvo, and my family (husband John, Sophia 18, and Rocco 16) started swimming at Dominion Hills in the summer of 2009. When I think of summer, I think of swimming in the Dominion Hills pool. The clubhouse is charming, the established landscaping is beautiful, and the overall setting is bucolic in such an urban area. Two of my favorite things in the summer are meeting friends at our pool and swimming laps. My children loved growing up on the steps of the tank pool and learned to swim from Dominion Hill instructors.
My summer job in high school and college was as a Red Cross certified swimming instructor, so I have been an avid lover of water my entire life. I enjoy volunteering in the fundraising/event planning space. I helped start and successfully manage five Silent Auctions/Socials at the former McKinley Elementary school and I currently organize a charity event for the Yorktown softball team benefiting the Arlington Free Clinic. In doing so, I have demonstrated my ability to plan large-scale social events with many volunteers, raise funds, and oversee finances. In my professional life, I’m a CPA in the Finance Department of an Internet Company.
Over the past three years, I have chaired the Membership Activities Committee for the Dominion Hills board. In this role, I have spearheaded the now “annual” Luau and continued the tradition of a Fall Oktoberfest. We have added events such as the Boozy Brunch, Adult Movie Night, and Kentucky Derby party to our social roster. This year the committee has plans to host a March Madness viewing party for another off-season event at our pool.
I believe I can lead the pool in expanding our social options for kids, families, and adults so that we can come together as a community, welcome new members, and meet other members of our pool. I look forward to being a part of the planning of the future of our pool over the next few years.
Dave Lassiter
My name is Dave Lassiter. I have been a member of the Dominion Hills Area Recreation Association since birth, I have spent all my summers around pools as a Swimmer, Lifeguard, and Coach. I have worked at DHARA under all four of the Resident Managers during my Aquatic Career. I was the Assistant Manager during the reconstruction of 1988. I have seen Dominion Hills go from an “I cannot give away a membership”, to a long waitlist. I have experience budgeting for pool supplies as pool personnel. I was Head Coach of the DHARA Swim Team from 1995-2000 leading the Swim Team to Division 4 of the NVSL. I am looking for a season (on and off), of safe, fun, successful, and memorable as possible. Would like to see more events to add on to the existing Tot parties, Kids nights, Teen nights, and Adult and Staff activities. I look forward to adding extra enthusiasm to the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter activities around the Pool and Community.
Andrew Rahman
My name is Andrew, and along with my wife Kim, we’ve been residents of Dominion Hills since 2017. As an active DHARA member, I’m committed to the success and growth of our community. Growing up swimming and continuing to swim regularly, I’m passionate about the pool experience. My children were on the swim team at Canterbury Woods, and I’ve attended DHARA meetings focused on improving the pool, including facility expansion. I’ve also been inspired by former board members’ dedication to the community.
Professionally, I run a management consulting firm, helping organizations develop strategic direction and foster collaboration. I’ve served as a professor at American University and worked in the federal government, both domestically and overseas. I’ve chaired an educational association, founded two others, and participated in committees on finance, strategic oversight, and membership.
My approach is to align organizational goals with strategies for long-term success by understanding core objectives—such as growth, member engagement, or operational excellence—and creating practical solutions that balance short-term actions with long-term sustainability. I’m committed to fostering a culture of clear vision, alignment, open communication, and belonging, where all members feel valued. These principles will guide DHARA toward sustainable growth and ensure members are actively engaged in shaping our future.
DHARA faces challenges, including aging infrastructure and facilities that need improvements. Strategic planning and capital investments are required to expand the pool and enhance amenities. We also need to increase social events and address the wait-list issue through gradual membership growth. By tackling these challenges, DHARA can continue to thrive and meet members’ evolving needs.
Thanks, Andrew

Kristen Reilly
My family and I have been members since 2014. All four of my kids have learned to swim at DH, and as of last summer, are all now full-fledged Thunder Ducks. Since joining the Board in 2021, I have been an active member of the Water Sports, Long Term Planning, and Insurance & Contracts Committees. For the past 3 years, I have also served on the Executive Committee.
If re-elected, I will continue to advance the numerous initiatives underway, including the long-term planning for a potential new pool, the management and maintenance of our existing property, and ensuring the pool remains a fun and welcoming club for all of our members.
Geoff Vaughan
As a member since 2010, my wife, Kristen, and I have been enjoying Dominion Hills for over 15 years. We have 3 wonderful children: Annabell (12), Liam (10), and Colton (7). For the past 5 years, we have been a part of the swim team and our kids have really enjoyed the swim meets, social events, and of course, the snack bar! If it’s a summer night at the pool, you’ve most likely seen our family there.
I have been on the pool board for the last three years and served as the treasurer for the past two. During the last two years, I have spent time on several key initiatives. First, and most importantly, restructuring our banking to interest-bearing accounts that resulted in $20,000 of interest last year. Second, is adding credit card platforms for convenient payment at the Quack Shack and concession stand.
I grew up working at pools as a lifeguard/manager and started out my career as a paramedic working in both New Jersey and Virginia. I understand the challenges of balancing safety with making the pool a fun place for friends and family. I work in federal technology consulting, leading work for the Department of Defense and other government agencies. In my free time (when I’m not driving my kids to sporting events or at practices), I enjoy swimming, woodworking, and landscaping. For DHARA, my wife and I volunteer for the swim team, and I have spent a lot of time helping to improve the pool including things like repairs and grounds maintenance, installing speakers, and invasive plant removal.
With my experience as a first responder and business leader and passion for improvement, I would value the opportunity to serve another board term and continue the great programs our pools offer while finding new ways we can improve experiences for our members. I want to keep working to fix our aging pool infrastructure, as well as prepare for the potential second pool.
Voting is open until Noon on Wednesday, February 5.
