2026 Board of Director Candidates
Pete Bentson

My wife (Jill) and I have been members of DHARA since we bought our first home in Westover. We are lifelong Virginia residents and have lived in Arlington for almost two decades. In recent years we’ve had the opportunity to watch DHARA grow and evolve as our own family has grown too. Today we are parents to three boys (Charlie, Andrew, and John) who are proud members of the Thunder Ducks.
In my professional life I manage a team of financial services professionals, and strive to bring the requisite budgeting, strategy, and communication skills to my role as a board member. I also chair the Scholarship fund for a family non-profit, and our household is active with local charity organizations.
If re-elected, my focus would continue to be on maintaining the inclusive sense of community that already exists at DHARA, while focusing on smart, efficient ways to improve our facilities both immediately and for the long term. Above all, my goal would be to ensure that our pool remains a competitive, attractive offering for both existing and prospective members.

My family joined Dominion Hills in the summer of 2022, and I’ve been on the Board for the past three years. My husband Brad and our three children (Allie (14), Nate (11), and Zach (9)) spend countless hours at the pool each summer, and we appreciate the community that DHARA has built. All three children participate on the swim team, and our family enjoys events such as kids nights and adult socials. In my professional life, I am the Vice President for Global Litigation and Enforcement for IP House, a company providing a range of investigative services related to intellectual property enforcement. Prior to joining IP House, I worked for fourteen years as an attorney in the Department of Justice’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section.
If re-elected, I would strive to continue DHARA’s efforts to provide a range of activities and events in a safe and fun environment to members, while thinking strategically about the pool’s future. I hope you will give me the opportunity to continue to improve DHARA and to serve the DHARA community in the upcoming years.

I am very interested in serving on the DHARA Pool Board. Despite my current physique, during my youth I spent my summers as a lifeguard, rising to head lifeguard, at a community, neighborhood pool very similar to Dominion Hills. I worked at this pool for four years, starting as a temporary lifeguard and then moving all the way up to head lifeguard – with requirements of managing all the lifeguards, creating protocols to manage the pool, and programming associated with the pool community.
My family has lived in Westover for the last 10 years and was on the DHARA waitlist for several years before receiving the very exciting email that it was finally our turn to join DHARA as a full member last year. We have three kids, ages 5, 8 and 15 (attending Cardinal and Yorktown). Our 8-year-old is really enjoying being a part of the DHARA Swim Team – Go Thunder Ducks! We value being a member of the DHARA family and have met many new people and families and are excited for the future of the pool.
I am interested to serve on the Board to help continue to move the pool forward – especially having young kids, we will have the pool as our future for many, many years. I would like to put in the time and effort to maintain the progress of the Pool Board for our community. I have some ideas to bring the pool community even more together, especially as new families or summer rentals join the pool after sitting on waitlists for years, attempting to foster a closer connection to our pool community. Last August, I was sitting at the pool and noticed new members around the bulkhead. Despite all the signage, the individuals made that walk across and then the whistles blew to stay off the bulkhead. I recall doing the same thing when we first joined and had similar stories from other families. Although more of a humorous example, I think there is an opportunity to welcome our new members in a different way, to have a better understanding of the rules, our facilities, and I’m glad to take that on.
I have experience sitting on Boards for volunteer and charitable organizations – so I understand the time and energy required to have a successful, thriving organization. I hope you will support my interest in serving on the DHARA board and will always be available to help support the community. Thank you for your consideration.

My wife Keesha and I moved to Dominion Hills thirteen years ago, and our family—Eddie (12) and Max (9)—has been part of the pool community ever since. Over the years, the pool has become a place where our boys have grown up, friendships have formed, and neighbors come together each summer. It’s been exciting to see the recent updates and improvements, and I’m running for the Pool Board because I care about continuing to build on that momentum while preserving the welcoming, well-run pool experience that makes our community special.
Professionally, I bring experience building and managing an organization, including budgeting, planning, and making thoughtful decisions with long-term impact. I’ve worked closely with diverse stakeholders and understand the importance of transparency, accountability, and follow-through. As a Pool Board member, I would focus on responsible financial stewardship, clear communication with members, and supporting continued improvements that keep the pool safe, enjoyable, and sustainable for years to come

Hi all, my wife Libby and I became members of the pool in 2013 and I’ve been on the Board since 2021. We are enthusiastic supporters of the Thunder Ducks! Our four sons—Griffin (17), Asher (15), Beckett (13), and Tanner (10)—are all on the swim team. We are an active sporting family and we love that summer swim is an opportunity for kids of all ages to compete together on the same team at the same time in the same place. In my working life, I am an attorney.
I’ve enjoyed working alongside my awesome colleagues on the Board and am inspired by their energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and shared love of the pool. If re-elected, I look forward to continuing to work together with them to ensure that the pool remains fun, safe, and welcoming to all people.

My family joined DH in 2019, and I have served on the board for the past six years, including as president for the 2025 season and chair of our long-term planning committee. My wife Kelly and I are active with the swim team, and you’ll often find me cheering on (and timing) our sons Henry (14) and Everett (9) at Thunder Duck meets. Outside of DH, I lead the health care practice at a DC consulting firm and enjoy playing tennis and trying to keep up with our puppy, Jack.
We truly love this community. I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish so far and continue to believe DH’s best years lie ahead. If re-elected, I would like to continue to help with the board’s efforts to improve our facilities, plan for our community’s future, and ensure that DH is the fun and welcoming place we all know and love for years to come.
