During Normal Hours:
- The community house will be open for all members (and paid guests) to use during normal business hours, unless there is a private event.
- Paid rentals and pool events will take precedence over general use. The schedule will be posted on the door. The space will close 1 hour prior to the rental.
- No organized parties (such as birthday parties, celebrations, etc). Members can rent the community house for events.
- Members must dry off before entering the space.
- If the pool is temporarily closed due to lightning / thunder, and the room is not occupied for a private event, members are allowed to utilize the space to wait out the storm. There is a maximum capacity of 80. First come, first serve.
- If the pool closes completely, then the community room will also be closed at that time.
- Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied at all times by an adult.
- Members are responsible for maintaining a clean community room. Please clean up after yourself.
- Members can eat and drink in the space provided they clean up after themselves.
- The refrigerator can be utilized for members if needed – overnight storage is not permitted.
- Community Room will close 30 minutes prior to close to allow staff to clean
- The stove can only be used during paid rentals.
During Swim Meets:
- Members are allowed to use the space. A viewing area will be reserved for elderly and handicapped members and guests.
During Rentals:
- Renter MUST be present at all times during the event and assumes responsibility for ALL damages.
- Time components may not be divided into smaller increments to reduce the hourly rate.
- Evening events must end no later than 10pm (music off and guests gone).
- No smoking in the Community House. Usage of the fireplace, candles, or any open flame is prohibited. Alcoholic beverages kept, served, sold, or otherwise brought onto the DHARA grounds by the Renter shall be compliant with the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (“VABC”) code and regulations. If you are serving alcohol to others through a bartender, or a banquet license is otherwise required, you can apply online at: www.abc.virginia.gov/licenses/get-a-license/banquet-licenses.
- The capacity of the Community House is limited to 80 people AT ALL TIMES.
- Events are limited to the Community House and lawn (if rented). If the event is held during pool hours, the pool may only be used by members and their paid guests.
- Any live music or a DJ must have prior approval from the Resident Manager or the Membership Recorder, and reasonable volume adhered to.
- The piano is not to be moved except by the Resident Manager.
- Do not use tacks, nails, tape, staples, or other defacing materials. Nothing may be hung from light fixtures or fans.
- DHARA does not assume responsibility for equipment or personal items lost or left in the Community House.
- All spills must be cleaned immediately. Chairs and tables must be clean and returned to the proper storage area. All trash, including food stored in the refrigerator and freezer, must be removed and placed in the dumpster.
- There is a checklist to complete before leaving the premises. The Community House and all facilities used must be left clean and undamaged. Required cleanup tasks include sweeping, removing all trash (including food stored in the refrigerator and freezer), and cleaning counters, tables, chairs, and anything that may have become soiled or sticky. Renter MUST turn off all lights including those in the bath house and lock the doors.
