Kids Night Rescheduled to Sunday, June 25


Hello members!
Kids Night has been rescheduled to this Sunday, from 7PM to 9PM.

All DH kids 6-12 years of age who have passed the swim test are welcome. $5 per child member.

Preordered wrist bands can be picked up at the front desk on Sunday after 12PM until the event. You can also purchase wrist bands at the Quack Shack.

If you were registered for Wednesday’s Kids Night and are unable to attend this Sunday, you will receive credit toward the next Kids Night on July 19th.

Greetings Dominion Hills Members!

Presenting your pool newsletter for the week of June 11. We hope all who participated in and supported the time trials this weekend enjoyed the event, and congrats to all the Thunder Ducks for putting in their best effort! It’s going to be another fun-filled week at the pool, we hope to see everyone out there.

This week’s events
June 12: B-Meet, 6PM: The DH Thunder Ducks will be bringing all the quacks – for the B-Meet @ Arlington Forest, 6PM. GO DUCKS! Here’s a link to the Swimtopia calendar: https://dhswim.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

June 16: Movie Night, 8PM: Movie night – set your course for DH to enjoy a movie under the stars @ 8pm – Jungle Cruise. Want to check out the trailer? You can see it here: https://youtu.be/f_HvoipFcA8. Bring a blanket, snacks…and be prepared for adventure!

June 17: Swim Team Social, 4:30PM: The DH Thunder Ducks will be holding a Swim Team Social, where the activity will be Slip N’ Slide on the lawn! 4:30PM at Dominion Hills.

June 18: Adult Brunch, 9AM: Do you brunch? If so – make your way to DH for Adult Brunch 9-11AM. Come for the conversation, stay for the fruit-cake!

June 19: B-Meet, 6PM: The DH Thunder Ducks will hold a B-Meet with Sleepy Hollow Recreational Association @ Dominion Hills: 6PM.  Please note: the DH pool will close at 4PM. Swimtopia calendar: https://dhswim.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

June 21: Kids Night, 7PM: Need a little time to run an errand, engage in a hobby, contemplate the meaning of life, or maybe just sit in a quiet room and attempt to meditate away some of the stress? We get it………bring the kids to: Kids night at DH,  7-9PM. Pool closes at 7PM.

June 22: Tiny-Tot Picnic, 11:30PM: Tiny-Tot Picnic at DH, at 11:30AM – all Tiny Tots welcomed!

June 23: Swim Team Social, 5:30PM: DH Thunder Duck Swim Team Social at the DH Lawn & Clubhouse: 5:30PM

Reminders:

  • DH will open at 1:30PM on the 6/14 & 6/16
  • Starting on June 19, July’s summer hours will be in effect at DH. This means early bird swimming will move to 5:30am – 7am. The pool will be open on weekdays from 10:30am – 9pm, Saturdays from 10am – 9pm and on Sundays after Adult Brunch, 11am – 8pm.
  • Make sure to check the DH Events calendar or the full online calendar for early close or late opening due to Thunder Duck swim and dive events

Hello fellow members!

Kids Night is coming up on June 21 and we’re excited to see all the smiling, cherubic faces that will grace the shores of Lake DH.  Take a well-deserved break while your kids are enjoying a safe and fully-supervised evening of swimming, fun, and food at the pool.

All DH kids 6-12 years of age who have passed the swim test are welcome. $5 per child member.
Signup online to reserve your spot and wristband!

You can also purchase an admittance wristband at the Quack Shack any time between now and the event. If your child has not yet passed the swim test, arrange a time to take it with one of our pool managers 

The online sign-up will be available until 12pm the day of the event. If you prepay for kids night there will be an admittance wristband available for you or them to pick up from the front desk between 12:30pm and 7:00pm the day of the event.

Hello fellow members!

We’re stoked to be sending our first weekly newsletter for the 2023 season! Due to popular demand, we’ve brought back a printable PDF version of our event calendar.  If you heard about the Kentucky Derby lawn party, that was just one of several NEW events this year to enjoy, and you’ll hear about them in our weekly newsletters.

DH 2023 Events Calendar

This week’s events
The Wine Down: Our second NEW event this year is the Wine Down on the Hill, the first of which will be this Friday, June 9 from 5-8pm. It’s an appetizer potluck, end of the week, adult wind down. We’ll be sitting on the hill by the East end of the pool, sipping and enjoying the weather.  Click below for the sign-up so we know how many will be joining us and who is bringing appetizers to share.

Early Open on June 7 & 14: With the school year coming to a close, elementary schools have an early release on Wednesday, June 7, and Wednesday, June 14. We will be opening the pool at 1:30pm on both June 7th and 14th.

Thunder Duck swimming: Saturday, June 10 at 7am, the DH Thunder Ducks swim team will hold time trials at the pool. This is where our swimmers set their own bar for the season, giving each athlete their times to beat.

NOTE: The pool will open after time trials at 12:30 pm, so make sure to plan accordingly!

June Board Meeting: Your illustrious Board Of Directors will be meeting at 7:30pm on Thursday, June 8 for the usual; motioning, seconding, and working through the details of keeping the pool smoothly running for all of us. If you see a board member, thank them!

And don’t forget, if you have any suggestions that might make DH more friendly, more fun, or more exciting, submit them through our idea portal!

Upcoming Events:
Thunder Ducks Swim Meets: On June 12 there is the first A-Meet of the season. It’s an away meet with the Thunder Ducks swimming at Forest Hills. On June 7, the first Thunder Ducks B-Meet will be hosted by our neighbors at Arlington Forest. GOOD LUCK DUCKS!

Movie Night: On June 16 the first Movie Night of the season will show Disney’s Jungle Cruise, with the film starting at 8pm.
