Hello and Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2024. It’s once again time for the DHARA Annual Membership Meeting. This year’s meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 7 pm. You can find a link to the agenda, all relevant materials, and the dial-in on the website. The agenda includes meeting the candidates for the Board, hearing the results of the Board election, reviewing our finances and 2024 budget, consideration of edits to the bylaws, a discussion of long term plans and a future special meeting to discuss this in more detail, and sharing updates on the Board’s and DHARA’s activities. We had a fantastic 2023. The pool was full, and the Quack Shack continued to perform well and keep everyone sugared up! We also continued our beautification efforts, including working with a local non-profit to remove invasive plant species from the rear of the property. Importantly, we are working to shore up the bulkhead between the pool and the tank based on the findings of our engineering report.
We continued to have a number of social activities for the whole family, including movie nights, kids and teen nights, holiday picnics, the Luau, and Oktoberfest. We also introduced a Halloween parade, wine down on the hill, and a Kentucky Derby party. Finally, the swim and dive teams had tremendous success, including a first place finish in the Division. Let’s go, Thunder Ducks!
Your Board also continues to consider DH’s long term plans. We will hear a more detailed report during the Annual Meeting, but we have been engaging with an architect and considering local regulatory requirements. We think 2024 is going to be an important year for long term planning, and we look forward to discussing that with all of you. In fact, we would like to schedule a future special membership meeting to discuss plans in more detail. Please rest assured that no major decisions will be taken without the input of the members.
As always, I would like to thank the membership for their continued involvement. I also want to thank my fellow Board members and DH staff for their care and dedication. I hope that we can all find strength and support in the bonds we share. We look forward to spending more time together in 2024 and wish you and your loved ones health and happiness in the coming year.
