Amendments to DHARA 2020 Rules & Regulations to Address COVID-19

These rules augment the existing rules as listed in Section 8 of the DHARA Rules and Regulations. Where there is a conflict between these amendments and the pre-existing 2020 DHARA Rules and Regulations, these rules apply.

Novel Coronavirus, COVID-19, has caused a public health crisis and placed an unusual level of stress and uncertainty on all of us. As such, DHARA members must adhere to these rules and regulations while COVID-19 is presenting restrictions on DHARA operations.

Using DH grounds and facilities is done at each member’s own risk.

If any member is considered “high risk” for infection (CDC), the member will exercise prudent judgment in deciding to visit DH.

While DHARA will follow all VADoH and/or CDC to mitigate COVID transmission, this does not eliminate the risk of infection while using DH facilities.

All members agree to follow DHARA’s established procedures to safeguard the health and well-being of all DHARA members and staff.

Adjustment to these procedures will occur as the association and our community makes our way through opening and operating in the current climate and associated phases. When adjustments occur, members will follow the revised procedures.

All members must treat DH staff with respect and follow their instructions. Members will not debate the rules with DH staff on site. Any disagreement with DHARA rules or the instructions of staff will be brought to the attention of the pool manager or the Board.

Members will monitor their own health and any associations with those at high risk of infection. If a member has any potential symptoms of COVID-19 or has come into contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, the member, and the member’s family may not come to the pool until at least 14 days after all symptoms have abated or symptom-free for 14 days after the contact with the individual who tested positive.

If a member or someone in the member’s family has been to the pool in the 14 days prior to the onset of symptoms in the member or person in the member’s family, in the interest of the safety of other DHARA members and staff, the member is strongly encouraged to alert the pool manager.

As always, under DHARA Rules, Section 8.2: Personal behavior that detracts from DHARA goals and rules will not be tolerated. If the behavior of any member is determined to be threatening, abusive, intimidating, disruptive, harassing, violent, dangerous, reckless, or repeatedly non-compliant with DHARA policies and procedures, as determined by the manager or the Board, the member will be asked to leave the premises, and the member’s membership may be revoked by the Board.

All members will be asked to acknowledge that they have read and understand these amendments to the DHARA 2020 Rules & Regulations before they will be allowed access to the pool.
